An Irish developer has sought planning permission for a 261-bedroom hotel in the Liberties, directly behind the Vicar Street venue which is also being redeveloped into a hotel.

Salamisso Developments, led by Colm Donoghue, submitted an application to Dublin city council this week for the Molyneux Hotel, in Molyneux yard in Dublin 8, and claimed it would create 200 jobs once open.
